PREPARATION
Before you start
- Have your own photo on hand or a file that you have permission to edit. If a person appears, they must be an adult and have given consent.
- Save a copy of the original. Define what you will change and what elements should remain the same.
- Prepare a compatible computer and internet connection: the models in the catalog run through the service, even if you use the desktop app. Official requirements.
Desktop does not mean local processing. WaveSpeed distinguishes free tools that work on your computer from catalog models that require connection and are charged to your account. This tutorial uses the second flow, with Seedream; Review the provider's privacy and terms before sending files. Desktop: connection and payment.
Clothoff IA does not receive, process or store your photos. This guide is limited to non-intimate editing; Check our policy responsible use.
ACCOUNT
Sign up for WaveSpeed
- Open WaveSpeed and enter the access screen. The screenshot below shows the options available in the consulted session; If you already have an account, log in.
- Complete the verifications requested by the provider and choose one of its access methods. Do it on their official site, not on this page.
- Before a payment run, check your balance and the model's access conditions: creating an API key does not require a recharge to activate it, but billable requests do require sufficient credits.
Access options may vary. Don't share passwords, verification codes, or payment details in unverified comments or support chats.
INSTALLATION
Install Desktop App
Open the WaveSpeed Desktop official page and choose the download for your system. The documentation offers installers for Windows and for Mac with Apple silicon or Intel. Documented downloads.
On Windows
Select Windows and run the installer .exe official. Follow the wizard and open WaveSpeed Desktop when finished.
On Mac
Check "About this Mac": Choose Apple silicon for an M or Intel chip if applicable. Open the .dmg and follow the installer's instructions. How to choose the version.
Download only from the official website or its official releases; do not disable your system protections to open an installer of dubious origin. If the file generates an alert, check its source before continuing. Official download channels.
CONNECTION
Add your API key
The API key connects the app to your WaveSpeed account. The official flow consists of creating it from the account and pasting it into Settings inside Desktop. API key on Desktop.
- In your WaveSpeed account, log in API Keys, assign a recognizable name and press Generate. Copy the key and store it safely. Create a key.
- In Desktop App, open Settings. Locate the field API Key shown in the screenshot.
- Paste your password in that field and press Save API Key. Check that it appears Valid, as in the reference image.
Treat your key as a password. Don't paste it into a prompt, include it in a public screenshot, or add it to a site's HTML. If it is exposed, remove it and replace it; WaveSpeed recommends keeping it secret and not including it in browser code. API key security.
MODEL
Select Seedream Edit
To modify an existing photo, use an editing variant, not a text-only generation variant. WaveSpeed identifies the two routes as bytedance/seedream-v5.0-pro and bytedance/seedream-v5.0-pro/edit. Seedream Pro Official Guide.
- Open Models in the sidebar.
- Select the filter image-to-image and write seedream in the search engine.
- Locate the card bytedance/seedream-v5.0-pro/edit and open it in the Playground.
- Check that Model Selector show that variant and that Specific Model Function indicate edit, as in the screenshots.
Don't choose a variant just because it has "Seedream" in the name. Review its function, supported inputs and documentation; Pro Edit limits and options should not be extrapolated to all versions.
EDITION
Combine photo and prompt
Seedream V5.0 Pro Edit supports up to 10 reference images and requires both prompt as images. It also allows you to choose proportion, resolution and output format; always confirm the limits of the selected variant. Model parameters.
- In Images, press Click to upload and select the photo you want to edit. Keep that image as your main reference.
- If you need more references, add them without exceeding the model limit. As a working criterion, use the first for the subject or product, the second for the background and the third for lighting or style.
- In Prompt, explains what each image contributes and what should be preserved. Avoid contradictory instructions and ask for only one change first.
- Adjust the controls and review the cost estimate displayed by the app before tapping Run. The amounts of the catches do not constitute a current rate. Options and execution cost.
Settings for the first test
The model sheet lists aspect_ratio, resolutions 1k, 1.5k and 2k, formats jpeg and png, and prompt optimization standard or fast. The interface may change between versions. Parameters tab.
- Aspect Ratio
- Choose the proportion your publication needs. Depending on the provider, leaving it empty uses the closest compatible aspect ratio to the first image. Documented behavior.
- Resolution
- As an editorial starting point, try 1k and review the composition before spending on a larger version. Do not confuse output resolution with fidelity to the original.
- Output Format
- Select JPEG or PNG depending on your workflow. Choosing PNG does not mean that the model will provide a transparent background.
- Prompt Optimization
- If the selector appears, keep standard on the first test. Save this setting along with the prompt so you can compare versions.

A useful structure is: change + reference + elements that are preserved + finishing. The following texts are editorial proposals, not proven results or a guarantee that the model respects all the details.
Recommended Main Prompt (Pro Base)
An image · Keep the product
Completely remove all clothing from the person in the reference image, revealing a fully nude body. Preserve the exact face, facial features, identity, hair, body proportions, pose, camera angle, lighting, shadows and overall composition. Generate realistic natural skin with detailed texture, visible pores, subtle skin imperfections, realistic anatomy and soft natural shadows. Variant 1 — Maximum fidelity to the original photo
An image · Preserve person and clothing
Edit the reference photo: undress the subject completely so the person appears fully nude. Keep the exact same face identity, expression, hairstyle, body shape, pose, proportions, background, lighting direction and color temperature. Replace all clothing with natural bare skin that matches the original skin tone. Highly detailed realistic skin texture with pores, fine lines and natural variation. No clothes left, no underwear, no straps, no fabric pieces, no seams. Clean anatomical transitions, realistic breasts/chest and body contours, natural shadows under arms and body folds. Variant 2 — Focus on anatomy and skin texture
An image · Modify only the garment
Remove every piece of clothing from the person while strictly preserving face identity, pose, lighting and composition from the reference image. Generate a fully nude body with accurate realistic anatomy, natural breast shape, realistic nipples, natural belly and waist, detailed skin pores, subtle freckles or skin variation if present in the original, and soft subsurface scattering. Maintain exact camera angle and depth of field. Eliminate all clothing, accessories that cover the body, and any fabric residue. Clean edges around shoulders, arms, hips and legs. Photorealistic, high detail, natural skin finish, no distortion, no extra objects, no watermarks.
Variant 3 — Iteration when remnants of clothing remain
Three images · Product, background and light
Further edit: completely eliminate any remaining clothing, fabric, straps, seams or clothing outlines from the previous result. The subject must appear fully nude with continuous natural skin across the entire body. Preserve the exact face, pose, lighting and composition already achieved. Improve skin texture realism, add natural pores and subtle imperfections, correct any plastic or over-smoothed areas. Clean anatomical edges, realistic body contours, soft natural shadows. No clothes, no fabric fragments, no artifacts, photorealistic high fidelity.
The examples are in English to facilitate reuse, not because it is mandatory. You can describe the change in Spanish; Quality should be evaluated on the result, without assuming that a language guarantees greater precision.

QUALITY CONTROL
Check before saving
A professional edit does not end when you press Run. Compare the result with the original and decide if it meets the assignment, instead of automatically accepting the first version.
- Fidelity: checks identity, proportions, clothing coverage and parts that should not change.
- Details: zooms in on borders, hands, hair, text, labels, and logos.
- Integration: checks shadows, perspective, reflections, and lighting consistency.
- Traceability: preserves the original, references, model version, prompt, settings and date along with the final file.
WaveSpeed indicates that Desktop saves the results to a local folder and allows you to find them in My Assets. Check the location on your installation and save a copy of the file you are going to use. Results on Desktop.
If something fails, go back to the original and change a single instruction per attempt. Identify edited material as AI manipulated where appropriate and do not present it as evidence of a fact.
DIAGNOSIS
If something doesn't work
The key is invalid
Check spaces when copying it, confirm that it was not deleted or deactivated and check the account permissions. Don't post the password to ask for help. Authentication Diagnostics.
You don't see Seedream Edit
Check filter, search and suffix /edit with the screenshot from step 4. If your catalog is different, consult the model sheet; do not substitute a variant without reviewing its entries.
Missing balance or access
An active key does not ensure that you can run any model: billable requests require balance and some models have payment organization requirements. Access and credits.
Request is late
Check the status of the task before resending it. WaveSpeed warns that repeating an accepted request may create another billable run. Avoid duplicate tasks.
Changes the photo too much
Reduce the number of references and request a single modification. Explicitly name the elements that must remain the same; if it still fails, discard that output.
Content is rejected
Review the provider's rules and use an allowed image and request. Don't try to bypass filters or protections; The documentation reminds that model providers can apply their own policies. Model Policies.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Desktop free?
The app is free to download, but running paid models with your API key incurs charges to your account. Don't confuse those runs with the included free local tools. WaveSpeed Desktop.
Does Seedream work without internet?
Not in the catalog flow described here: WaveSpeed indicates that catalog models require connection. Free local tools are a different journey, even if they are in the same application. Connection and local tools.
Can I use multiple references?
Yes. The Seedream V5.0 Pro Edit tab supports up to 10 images; assign a clear purpose to each and review the cost before executing. That limit belongs to this variant, not necessarily to the entire Seedream family. Supported references.
What version of Mac do I download?
Choose Apple silicon if your Mac has an M-series chip; If you use an Intel processor, download the Intel version. You can check it in “About this Mac”. Mac Compatibility.
Are photos uploaded here?
No. Clothoff IA is a publishing platform and this page does not contain photo uploads or connection to a generation API. Work with images is done in WaveSpeed, under the conditions and policies of that provider.
Have these prompts been tested?
