AILabTools Review
AILabTools is a SFW photo-editing suite and API catalog whose virtual try-on swaps a garment onto a portrait. We tested the outfit-change workflow on August 26, 2026 and re-checked pricing, deletion terms and support routes on September 3, 2026.

Quick Verdict and Editor Score
AILabTools scored 7.6/10 in our test of August 26, 2026. It is the first SFW entry in our review catalog: instead of removing anything, the try-on tool places a garment you upload onto a portrait and returns a clothed result in about 13 seconds. Files are deleted within 24 hours, registration unlocks 200 starter credits, and a ticket desk with a 7-day refund rule sits behind it.
The trade-offs are transparency gaps rather than output problems: editor package prices show up only at checkout, the API billing page we could read is marked as legacy, and no company name, address or content policy is printed on the pages we reviewed. Read the How we rate page for the weights behind every score.
Sub-Scores by Criterion
- Privacy (30%)7.8 / 10
Uploaded and generated files are deleted within 24 hours, card data is handled by Paddle and not stored by the provider. Deductions: no legal entity or address on the pricing page, no statement on training with uploads, no “last updated” dates on the policies.
- Quality (25%)7.6 / 10
4 of 5 try-on results kept the garment cut and drape; 1 result blurred a fine print. Images are processed one at a time — no batch mode — and the output is a clothed portrait only, which is what a SFW try-on should deliver.
- Price (20%)7.0 / 10
200 starter credits on registration and 0–3 credits per editor run are generous; the legacy API page prices credits at $0.006 down to $0.0025. Deduction: editor package prices appear only at checkout, and two billing pages coexist.
- Speed (15%)8.0 / 10
5 timed try-on runs returned in 9–21 seconds, median 13 seconds, with no queue in the afternoon session. The provider itself states “a few seconds to minutes”.
- Support (10%)7.5 / 10
Ticket system, support email, developer docs and a 7-day refund rule if under 10% of credits are used. Deduction: the API billing page is marked as no longer maintained, so two price lists exist at the same time.
Weighted total: 7.8×0.30 + 7.6×0.25 + 7.0×0.20 + 8.0×0.15 + 7.5×0.10 = 7.59 → 7.6/10. Weights per How we rate: privacy 30%, quality 25%, price 20%, speed 15%, support 10%.
Editorial Test Note — August 26, 2026
- Session: August 26, 2026, own account registered with a dedicated editorial email address; 5 control portraits of editorial team members and consenting adults per our Responsible AI policy, paired with 5 garment photos from our own wardrobe. Clothoff AI accepts no uploads — every run happened inside the reviewed tool.
- Speed: 5 timed try-on runs returned in 9–21 seconds, median 13 seconds; no queue was shown during the afternoon session. The provider states “a few seconds to minutes” and processes one image at a time.
- Price: the 200 starter credits appeared right after registration; our 5 runs and downloads consumed 15 of them, in line with the published 0–3 credits per use. Package prices for the editor were shown only at checkout, so we quote the legacy API list: $12 for 2,000 credits.
- Retention per policy: uploaded and generated files deleted within 24 hours (try-on page); no statement on training with uploads; no “last updated” date on the pricing or try-on pages (accessed September 3, 2026).
- Consent tooling: none. The pages we reviewed carry no consent rule, no 18+ notice and no content policy; the try-on accepted every portrait in our set without a prompt about the depicted person.
- Quality: 4 of 5 results preserved the garment cut, color and drape; 1 result softened a fine stripe pattern into a blur. Hands crossing the torso produced a small seam in 1 case.
Retest SLA: every score is re-tested within 90 days of publication — next check by December 2, 2026. Corrections: editorial@clothoff.ai · Editorial policy.

Who It’s For and Who Should Skip It
A Good Fit If
- You want to preview outfits on your own portrait or a consenting adult’s photo without adult content.
- You build a fashion or retail app and need a try-on API with per-call billing.
- You value a short, stated deletion window over long-term galleries.
Look Elsewhere If
- You need clear package prices before signing up — see the API pricing in our Wavespeed review.
- You need batch processing or a documented content policy for a production workflow.
- You want stylized or generated images rather than edited photos — compare the AI girl generators hub.
Privacy and Retention
Privacy carries 30% of the score. AILabTools earns 7.8 here for a short, unambiguous retention statement — uploaded and generated files are deleted within 24 hours — and for keeping card data with Paddle rather than on its own servers. The deductions come from what is missing: no legal entity or address on the pricing page, no statement on whether uploads train models, and no “last updated” date on the pages we read.
“Uploaded and generated files are automatically deleted within 24 hours, used only for result generation, ensuring data security.”

Because the tool returns a clothed portrait, the privacy risk sits mainly in the source photo: a portrait of another person uploaded without consent is a privacy issue regardless of what the output looks like. Swimwear and outfit samples from reviewed tools are collected in our bikini gallery; the opposite workflow — tools that remove clothing — is compared on the clothes-removal apps page under a stricter consent standard.
Legal Notes for U.S. Users
This section is informational and not legal advice. AILabTools is a SFW tool, but U.S. law still matters for the input photo: most states recognize a right of publicity or privacy, so editing and sharing another person’s portrait without consent can create civil liability even when the result is fully clothed. Under the TAKE IT DOWN Act (Pub. L. 119-12, signed May 19, 2025), publishing a non-consensual intimate image of a real person is a federal crime, and since May 19, 2026 covered platforms must remove reported images within 48 hours; the FTC can seek civil penalties of $53,088 per violation. Several states also require age verification for adult sites — see state age verification. Only use photos of yourself or of consenting adults 18+ (Responsible AI); to report an intimate image, use Report NCII.
“a covered platform shall, as soon as possible, but not later than 48 hours after receiving such request— (A) remove the intimate visual depiction; and (B) make reasonable efforts to identify and remove any known identical copies of such depiction.”
— TAKE IT DOWN Act, Pub. L. 119-12, §3(a)(3), GovInfo, accessed September 3, 2026

FAQ About AILabTools
Is AILabTools free to use?
Partly. Registration activates 200 general credits that work across the APIs, and the web editor lets accounts without a purchase use a limited set of effects; the try-on page says free users get limited access. Starter credits expire after one month, purchased credits never expire, and each editor run or first download costs 0–3 credits.
How much does AILabTools cost?
The pricing page lists credit ranges (0–3 per editor use, 1–100 per API call) but shows package prices only at checkout. The legacy API billing page prices universal credits from $12 for 2,000 credits ($0.006 each) to $2,500 for 1,000,000 ($0.0025 each). Editor package prices were not publicly documented at test time.
Does AILabTools work without an account?
Yes for a look, no for real use. Sample images on the try-on page can be previewed without logging in, but downloading a result and claiming the 200 starter credits require registration. Payments run through Paddle by card; we saw no cryptocurrency option, and the pricing page says card data is not stored by the provider.
Does AILabTools produce nude or adult images?
No. The feature we tested is a virtual try-on: you supply a portrait and a garment photo and receive a clothed result. Our review covers only that SFW workflow and the related API; we did not test any other feature. For adult-oriented tools, see our undress AI rankings, which apply a separate consent standard.
Can I use AILabTools on a photo of another person?
Only with that person’s consent, even for a clothed try-on: swapping outfits on someone’s photo and sharing it can violate their right of publicity or privacy under U.S. state law. The provider publishes no consent rule of its own. Our Responsible AI policy requires consenting adults 18+ in every test.
What data does AILabTools keep and for how long?
The try-on page states that uploaded and generated files are automatically deleted within 24 hours and used only to produce the result. Account, credit and payment records stay with the account; the pricing page says card data is not stored. No statement about training on uploads and no “last updated” date were found at test time.
How do I remove an image made with AILabTools?
Because files are deleted within 24 hours and results are not published on the site, there is normally nothing to remove; for anything else, email the support address in the pricing FAQ or open a ticket. If an intimate image of you appears elsewhere, the TAKE IT DOWN Act 48-hour rule applies — see Report NCII.
