StopNCII.org is a free tool for adults who fear that an intimate image or video of them will be shared without consent. It creates a hash — a digital fingerprint — on the person’s device and shares only that hash with participating platforms such as Microsoft, OnlyFans and Pornhub, which remove matching copies. The UK Revenge Porn Helpline runs it.

How does StopNCII hashing work?
The person selects the intimate image or video on their own phone or computer. The StopNCII.org page runs a hashing algorithm locally and produces a fixed-length fingerprint; identical copies produce the same value. Only the hash leaves the device — the image is never uploaded, viewed or stored by StopNCII.org.
Participating platforms receive the hash, search for matches and remove copies that violate their intimate-image policies. The search repeats, so a case keeps working after re-uploads. The user gets a case number and PIN to check status or withdraw; if lost, they cannot be recovered.
Who can create a case?
Three conditions apply: the person must be in the image, must have been 18 or older when it was taken, and must be over 18 now. Users can be anywhere in the world. Cases cannot be filed on behalf of somebody else.
Manipulated images and deepfakes qualify when they depict the person, are nude or semi-nude, and the person holds the file — which makes the service directly relevant to output from the tools reviewed here. If anyone in the image was under 18, StopNCII.org redirects to NCMEC’s Take It Down.
What are the limits?
Hash matching finds exact or near-exact copies on participating platforms only. It cannot reach services that have not joined or encrypted channels, and a cropped or re-encoded file may produce a different hash, so the FAQ recommends hashing every version.
Partners listed on the StopNCII.org partners page include Microsoft — which in May 2026 began using validated hashes across GroupMe, Teams Free, OneDrive and Xbox — plus OnlyFans, Pornhub, REDGIFS, xVideos, FetLife, F2F, Playhouse, ViVAstreet and Tik.Porn. The Revenge Porn Helpline reports a removal rate above 90% and more than 300,000 images removed since 2015.
How does StopNCII fit with US law and this site?
StopNCII.org is a voluntary industry mechanism, not a legal process. In the United States the TAKE IT DOWN Act gives victims a statutory 48-hour removal right on covered platforms since May 19, 2026 and criminalizes publishing NCII, including AI “digital forgeries.” The two routes work best together. Is StopNCII.org really free?
Yes. The service is run by the Revenge Porn Helpline, part of the UK charity SWGfL, and charges nothing to create or maintain a case. It requires no account or personal details beyond an email for case notifications, and the image itself is never uploaded to its servers.
Can I use StopNCII.org for an AI-generated image?
Yes, if the deepfake or edited image depicts you, is nude or semi-nude, and you have the file on your device. The FAQ explicitly lists manipulated images and deepfakes as NCII. Hash each version you hold, because a cropped or re-encoded copy can produce a different fingerprint.
Does StopNCII.org see my photo?
No. The hash is generated locally in your browser and is the only data sent. StopNCII.org states that it does not download images from the device and that participating platforms receive the hash alone. You keep a case number and PIN, which cannot be recovered if lost.
Which platforms use StopNCII hashes?
The partners page lists Microsoft, OnlyFans, Pornhub, REDGIFS, xVideos, FetLife, F2F, Playhouse, ViVAstreet and Tik.Porn. What if the image was taken when I was under 18?
StopNCII.org will not accept it. Use NCMEC’s Take It Down instead, which handles images taken before age 18 even for people who are adults today, and also works anonymously through on-device hashing. Suspected child sexual abuse material can additionally be reported to NCMEC’s CyberTipline.
