Wavespeed Free Tier: What Is Actually Free in 2026
Wavespeed does not run a permanent no-cost tier. It offers a $1 trial credit for eligible new accounts; this guide sets out what that buys, what it does not, and when a top-up makes sense.
Wavespeed is a pay-per-use platform with no permanent free plan: eligible new accounts get a $1 trial credit without a card, about 8 runs of the $0.12 clothes-changer model, verified on the pricing page on Aug 25, 2026. After that you top up by card or PayPal, and credits never expire. Photos of consenting adults 18+ only (Responsible AI).
What exactly do you get without paying?
The short version: one trial credit, no recurring allowance. The table separates what the credit covers from what it does not, with the document behind each row.
| Item | Finding | Source / date |
|---|---|---|
| Trial credit | $1 for eligible new accounts, no card required. | Pricing page, accessed Sep 3, 2026 |
| What it buys | About 8 runs of the clothes-changer at $0.12 per run; more on models priced from $0.07 per image. | Editorial test note, Aug 16, 2026 |
| Recurring allowance | None. No daily token, no slow queue for unpaid accounts. | Pricing page, accessed Sep 3, 2026 |
| Watermark | No watermark tier exists; trial runs produce the same output as paid runs. | Editorial test note, Aug 16, 2026 |
| After the credit | Top-ups by card or PayPal; credits do not expire, non-refundable; tiers Bronze, Silver, Gold, Ultra by cumulative top-up. | Pricing page, accessed Aug 25 and Sep 3, 2026 |
How far does $1 really go?
On paper, $1 divided by $0.12 is 8 runs. In the Aug 16, 2026 session a usable result took two or three passes, so the credit realistically yields two to four finished images — enough to judge the console, not to finish a project.
The Wavespeed review still scored price 9.0/10, because the per-run model has no floor: a single top-up can be spent over months, since credits never expire. Compare that with the weekly plans elsewhere in the catalog of all reviews.
How does the trial compare with true no-cost tiers?
Two partner tools run recurring allowances: UndressHer grants 1 token per day (watermarked, basic quality) and Pornworks lets registered accounts generate on a slow queue. Wavespeed's one-time credit is smaller but carries no watermark and no queue penalty.
“Generated media files are temporary and generally expire within 7 days. This includes generated images, generated videos, generated audio, any other model outputs.”
— Wavespeed data retention policy, accessed Sep 3, 2026
Whatever tier you use, the 7-day expiry applies equally. The hubs on apps with a working no-cost tier and clothes-removal apps that cost nothing to start rank all the recurring allowances we have tested.
When is a top-up worth it, and when should you skip it?
- Top up if the trial runs convinced you and you can tune parameters: $10 buys about 83 runs, the balance never expires, and there is no subscription to cancel.
- Skip it if you needed more than three passes per image during the trial — the cost per finished result climbs quickly, and credits cannot be refunded.
- Skip it if you want presets and a help desk; the alternatives guide lists three reviewed tools built that way.
One rule that costs nothing: the trial credit is for photos of yourself or of consenting adults. The provider's privacy policy sets no adult-only gate, only a children-under-13 exclusion, so the consent standard in our Responsible AI policy is the one that applies.

FAQ about Wavespeed
Does Wavespeed have a permanent no-cost plan?
No. The only unpaid allowance is a one-time $1 trial credit for eligible new accounts, granted without a card. There is no daily token and no slow queue for unpaid users. Once the credit is spent you top up by card or PayPal; credits never expire but are non-refundable, as verified on Aug 25, 2026.
How many images can I make with the $1 credit?
About 8 runs of the clothes-changer model at $0.12 per run. Because default parameters produced inconsistent garment boundaries in our Aug 16, 2026 test, a usable image usually took two or three runs, so expect two to four finished results. Models priced from $0.07 per image stretch the credit further.
Are trial outputs watermarked or lower quality?
No. Wavespeed has no separate watermark tier; trial runs use the same models and parameters as paid runs, and the output quality we scored at 8.3/10 applies to both. The only difference after the credit is spent is that each further run draws on a paid balance.
Is the trial credit safer than a subscription trial?
In one respect yes: nothing converts automatically, because Wavespeed has no subscription at all. The risk moves to top-ups, which are non-refundable once purchased. Start with the smallest top-up that covers a real session, and remember that generated files expire within 7 days unless downloaded.
